Water & Ice, 2021-ongoing
Series of video (different durations and different soundtracks) + video installations
Water & Ice is a hymn to the beauty of water. I started working on this series during 2021-22 winter and I want to keep working on in the next years.
The clips that compose the videos of the series are close up views of few centimeters of frozen streams. Most images are sort of “abstract paintings in motion”. There is no postproduction or color correction on the clips to keep them more “natural” possible.
Main screenings / projections of the first video of the serie, with the original soundtrack by Silvio Uboldi
2022: Toro (Colombia) CineToro experimental cinema festival – 2023: New York (USA) Columbia Water Center, World Water Film Festival 2024: Grenoble (France) “L’eau qui dore”, collective exhibition about water at La Bifurk, curated by Simon Cristiano and Quentin Touya – Edmonton (Canada) the video has been projected on a wall of snow during the The International Festival of Winter Cinema.
Multiscreen installation: July 2023 to May 2024 Musil Museum (Cedegolo – Italy) 1 projector and 2 screens, original soundtrack, enviromental recordings. Curated by Maria Chiara Wang.
From August 2024 it is installed permanently at Musil Museum (Cedegolo – Italy) in the first room of the museum, a room dedicated to the cycle of the water. In this new installation of 1 minute the videos are projected on two half spheres, and there is a new original soundtrack by Luca Formentini.
